Sri Lanka: Quran Sinhala Translation gifted to Moratuwa City Mayor, teachers, libraries


He was very much amazed to know about Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at’s wonderful task in translating Holy Qur’an into 75 languages and commended such a wonderful task.

A two member delegation from the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama'at Sri Lanka (AMJSL) comprising Mr. A. Abdul Aziz, Press Secretary and National Director Faith Outreach - AMJSL, and Moulavi A.B. Musthaq Ahmad, Chief Missionary, AMJSL, visited one of the Sri Lanka’s Southern Coastal City Moratuwa recently to gift Holy Qur’an Sinhala Translation to City Mayor and Universities.

The delegation visited Moratuwa Municipal Council and met Secretary to the Mayor who accepted the copy of Holy Qur’an Sinhala Translation and other literature with due respect. He was very much amazed to know about Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at’s wonderful task in translating Holy Qur’an into 75 languages and commended such a wonderful task.

The delegation also met Mr. Isuru Manawadu, a Lecturer, Department of Inter Disciplinary Studies, IT Faculties, University of Moratuwa. This Lecturer had contacted the Jama’at and requested a copy of Holy Qur’an Sinhala Translation, prior to this visit. He came to know about AMJSL through a Principal of a leading College, to whom copy of Holy Qur’an Sinhala Translation was already given.

The delegation briefed to the Lecturer about the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at and its World-wide Leader Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad’s tireless efforts by spreading the true teachings of Islam through various means, particularly addressing lawmakers at Capitol Hill, EU Parliament, in Ireland Parliament, and recently the Dutch Parliament. He was informed about the gist of His Holiness' address during the recent Dutch Parliament visit

The Press Secretary (AMJSL) pointed out about the unique feature of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community and said that this is the only Community which has Spiritual Leadership and termed as ““ONE COMMUNITY – ONE LEADER’. He added that the Community’s motto is ’LOVE FOR ALL; HATRED FOR NONE’.

The delegation further visited the Vice Chancellor’s Office and met Secretary to the Vice-Chancellor (VC) who accepted the copy of Holy Qur’an Sinhala Translation and other literatures on behalf of VC.

The Librarian, University of Moratuwa  Mrs. R.C Kodikara welcomed the delegation and expressed her pleasure to donate such a valuable gift to the Library.

In the end, the delegation paid a visit to the Public Library in Moratuwa and met the Librarian who accepted the copy of Holy Qur’an Sinhala Translation and other literature with due respect. She expressed her interest to contact the Jama’at for further books and literature in future.

To all of them, along copy of the Sinhala Translation of the Holy Qur’an with some other literatures including Peace Messages in English as well as Sinhala were presented. Moreover, the Sinhala Translation of the book ‘The Philosophy of the Teachings of Islam’ written by Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad – Founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Islam, also presented.
