LAHORE: An additional district and sessions judge on Wednesday directed police to address grievance of the petitioner on his petition seeking an FIR against unidentified people who he said were threatening to kill him for studying Ahmadiyya literature.
The judge disposed of the petition after passing the order.
Petitioner Bilal Munawar had said some individuals had threatened to kill him after learning that he was reading Ahmadiyya texts. Munawar said he hails from a moderate Muslim family and he was a faithful, law abiding, enterprising and learned citizen.
He said he had approached the relevant SHO and the CCPO’s office in vain to have an FIR registered against unidentified individuals. Munawar implored the court to direct police to provide him security, probe the matter and register an FIR against those who had threatened to kill him.
