Hindu, Sikh, Jewish, Christian and Islamic leaders come together

At at a time when there is conflict many areas of the world – much of it in the name of religion – leaders from the five main world religions will be at an event in Delta Wednesday (Feb. 24) to build understanding of each religion's values and beliefs.

The Interfaith Symposium will be held at Baitur Rahman Mosque. Presented by Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama'at and Delta Police Department, it will focus on youth, to help them understand their community responsibilities, teach them the fundamental similarities in religious beliefs and encourage them to speak out and stand up for tolerance.

The goal of the symposium is to generate discussion for youth 13 and older, and anyone else interested in promoting inclusion and understanding.

Hindi, Sikh, Jewish, Christian and Islamic leaders will be present at the Delta event and Delta Police Chief Const. Neil Dubord will provide the keynote address.

The symposium is from 7-9 p.m. The mosque is located at 9570 River Rd. Admission is free.
