Perspective: Extremists distort image of Islam | Fasih Malik

The time calls for interfaith dialogue. And it is primarily on this basis that our community holds interfaith conferences throughout the year to build bridges and enhance our mutual understanding.

Re: “Allah told me to do this,” March 16.

As an Ahmadi Muslim, it is very upsetting whenever extremists commit inhumane actions in the name of Islam.

The stabbing of two Canadian Forces members by Ayanle Hassan Ali is the latest example. People like Hassan Ali distort the image of Islam to justify their evil desires. And whenever these acts are carried out, the Ahmadiyya Muslim community is always at the forefront to collectively and unequivocally condemn these actions.

The time calls for interfaith dialogue. And it is primarily on this basis that our community holds interfaith conferences throughout the year to build bridges and enhance our mutual understanding. I urge my fellow citizens not to judge a religion of over a billion people based on this one action. Instead, I invite everyone to visit our mosques across the country anytime to learn about Islam first hand and see what we really do inside.
