"We are a peace loving and well organised association which will continue to help make this great part of scunthorpe an even better place to live in."
More than 20 young volunteers from the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association Scunthorpe converged on the streets of Scunthorpe over the weekend to partake in the ‘Clean for the Queen’ initiative.
The volunteers from the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association (AMYA) inspired by the teaching that ‘Loyalty to One’s Country is a Part of Faith’ believed it to be their social duty to do their part for their hometown.
The youth who also held a New Years Day clean up after the crack of dawn felt that this was the perfect opportunity to work with neighbours, friends & family as part of a collective effort to keep the streets of Scunthorpe clean.
Shahzad Ahmed Athar, Regional Press Secretary AMYA Yorkshire & Humber, said:
"Cleaning the streets of Scunthorpe also presents us with an opportunity to become better Muslims as cleanliness in Islam is an important part of a Muslim's faith.
"We are a peace loving and well organised association which will continue to help make this great part of scunthorpe an even better place to live in."
