Canada: Ahmadiyya Muslim group returning to Midland for open house

MIDLAND, ON – The Midland Public Library will be the site of an open house Saturday examining the role of women in Islam.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association will host “Mother Mary in Islam,” an event focusing on a prominent figure in both Islam and Christianity.

"Women are an integral and equal part of our society," Noman Khalil, national executive director, stated in a press release. "Mary … has been used by the Holy Quran as an example of the great status of women. She has been mentioned as a prime role model for all Muslim men and women."

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association is a non-profit religious organization with 86 chapters in Canada. It has visited Midland on numerous occasions.

Saturday’s open house will run from 12-4 p.m.
