Pakistan: Three awarded death in blasphemy case


The judge awarded death sentence to Anjum Naz, Javed Naz and Jafar Ali. The judge also awarded life term to Javed Naz and Jafar Ali.

Judge Bushra Zaman awarded death sentence to three accused in a blasphemy
case.  Previously Judge Bushra Zaman was reported to have released a Muslim
man implicated in the blasphemy case while for the Christian defendants she said:
“we cannot tolerate such wordings as our Rasool is the highest"

Anti-Terrorism Court No-2 Judge Bushra Zaman awarded death sentence to three accused in a case of blasphemy and extorting money registered with Satellite Town police.

The judge awarded death sentence to Anjum Naz, Javed Naz and Jafar Ali. The judge also awarded life term to Javed Naz and Jafar Ali.

According to the prosecution, Anjum Naz committed a blasphemy while giving a speech in a school.

The speech was recorded by his friends Javed Naz and Jafar Ali. Later, Jafar started extorting money from Anjum Naz, threatening him that he would leak his speech to public.

Seeing the increase in demand of money from Jafar, Anjum Naz reported the matter to Satellite Town police while the SHO registered a case of blasphemy and extorting money against the three friends on May 15, 2015.
