UK: Ahmadi Muslim Women of Newcastle donate to local food bank

Ahmadiyya Muslim Women Auxiliary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association UK, Lajna Ima'illah, donated canned and dry foods to the local food bank.
Organiser Shafia Saeed of Gateshead said: "The true spirit of fasting is to appreciate the gracious God who provides us with everything we need.Fasting arouses compassion and sympathy for fellow human beings, particularly the needy.
"In this spirit of compassion, the women auxiliary of Ahmadiyya Muslim Association Newcastle donated food and clothes for homeless people during the month of Ramadan to support the local food bank.
"Allah says in the Quran: "And they are those who give food – in spite of their own need, to the needy, and the orphan, and the captive,We only feed you for the sake of God, and we desire nothing in return from you, not even a word of thanks."
Organized in 1922 in Qadian, India, Lajna Ima'illah is the world's largest formlly organized association of the Muslim women with branches in over 200 countries and territories. Lajna Ima’illah UK branch, established in the early fifties is now spread across 90 local branches.
