A 13-member reconstituted Board of Governors for the T.I. Ahmadiyya Girls Senior High School at Asokore in the Sekyere East District in the Ashanti Region has been inaugurated by the Ashanti Regional Director of Education, Mrs Mary Owusu Achiaw.

The Ashanti Regional Missionary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission, Maulvi Abdul Hameed Tahir, has urged parents to put premium on the education of their children, especially the girl-child, to guarantee their future.

The Headmistress of the school, Hajia Aisha Boakye Nyantakyi, assured the reconstituted board of the support of the school administration in the discharge of its duties.

She disclosed that as of May this year, the total student population was 804 and that with the successful completion of the West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) this year, 195 students had left the school, reducing the student population to 609.

Hajia Boakye Nyantakyi stressed that discipline was the school’s core value.

The Chairman of the board, Ayyub Morgan, on behalf of the board members, promised to work assiduously and strictly abide by the GES Constitution that regulates its activities.

He said the board would, however, expect exemplary leadership from the school’s management in the performance of its administrative duties.
