The proprietor of Al-Azhar International, School, Lokoja, Kogi State, one of the frontline Islamic secondary schools in the country, Dr Yakeen Habeeb, has urged adherents of the two dominant religions in Nigeria – Muslims and non-Muslims to focus on inter-religious dialogue between Muslims and Christians in order to further understand both religious béliefs, aspirations and goals for mankind.
This according to Dr Habeeb, will further strengthened mutual coexistence between the two religions.
Dr Habeeb, Enonomist, a retired Banker, and Deputy Leader (Naib Amir North) Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat Nigeria, made this known during the graduation cérémony of the school in Lokoja, recently.
The highlight of the events was a lively inter-religious symposium, célébration of the school achèvements and Quranic graduation ceremony.
It was a double joy for parents of the graduating students as they were also named “Aaminul -Quran, after also completing the Holy Quran.
This underscores the uniqueness of the school as a foremost leading Educational center combining both western and Islamic education in a most conducive and stimulating environment, North central of Nigeria.
Earlier, a novelty football match and Islamic social events added colour to the programme as well as helped to galvanise the fitness of the students and instill the necessary spirit of sportmanship in them within and outside the school.
