AMRITSAR: Former Pakistan nationals who are now Indian citizens are upbeat over the Army's successful strikes on terror camps across the Line of Control (LoC) in Pakistan-controlled Kashmir.

"Pakistan was my mother country , but it is now infested with terrorist groups and camps. I am happy with the surgical strikes carried out by the Army ," said Tahira Zahoor, who was born and brought up in Faislabad district of Pakistan's Punjab province. She is now married to an Indian living in Qadian, a town in Punjab's Gurdaspur district.

Zahoor admitted that say did like the country of her birth. "But I'm not happy with its successive governments for adopting an anti-India policy and supporting insurgents in Jammu and Kashmir. I'm for India and want our Army to use drones to kill terrorists on Pakistani soil," she said. Her husband Maqbool Ahmad said there were celebrations in their house as soon they received news of surgical strikes across the LoC.

Another Pakistani woman who is now living in Qadian said she was happy that the strikes by the Army were successful. "I am hesitant in giving my name because I fear backlash against my relatives in Pakistan," she said. Stating that cross-border danger had come much closer to them following the Dinanagar and Pathankot terror attacks, she said, "If our Army had not taught them a lesson, they would have struck again. Why should I have sympathy towards them just because they are Pakistanis? Actually , they are terrorists and are getting support from Pakistan government," she said.
