LAHORE: Different religious parties have rejected the latest legislation in the Sindh Assembly, calling it a violation of Holy Quran, Sunnah, the Constitution of Pakistan and its ideology.
The parties holding a joint meeting on the invitation of Majlis Ahrar-e-Islam on Monday also rejected the government’s decision of returning six educational institutions of Chenab Nagar nationalised 45 years ago to Ahmedi missionaries again, terming it against the security, solidarity and ideology of Pakistan.
The meeting of the parties affiliated with Tehrik Khatm-e-Nabuwwat was chaired by elderly leader Qari Yusuf Ahrar and participated by Mian Muhammad Awais, Maulana Tanvirul Hasan Naqvi, Qari Muhammad Qasim, Qari Muhammad Asif, Dr Anif Kashir, Maulana Sarfraz Muavia and Qasim Cheema.
They said all schools of thought had already and rejected the controversial legislation. Ahrar secretary general Abdul Latif Khalid Cheema said the handing over of six educational institutions amounted to worst enmity against the country’s security and identity, besides a violation of the Constitution of Pakistan. He said the meeting decided that Majlis Ahrar would hold its annual two-day Khatm-e-Nabuwwat conference at Chenab Nagar on 11th and 12th of Rabiul Awwal.
