The Ahmadiyya Muslim community is calling for a city cleanup action after Eupen's New Year celebrations.
The initiative was launched in several Belgian cities.
The reform movement, Ahmadiyya, sees the city cleaning action as a symbolic act for the internal purification of the person, as well as a thank you to the new home of this predominantly Asian Muslim group.
Although, in Eupen for the first time in 2011, the cleaning campaign has already been carried out in Brussels and Antwerp for years, .
The organizers have invited everyone to participate. The volunteers will be equipped with gloves, gripping tongs and garbage bags from the town of Eupen's construction yard.
After the event, there is a joint breakfast planed at the Ephata entertainment center. The meeting place for the city cleaning is on January 1 at 8:30 am.
