As an Ahmadi Muslim in America, I am thankful that I live in a nation where members of all faiths can celebrate in peace without fear of persecution.
As children across the world suffer, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association (AMYA) finds solace with fellow Christians, Jews, and Americans. Just last year, participants in this campaign all across the United States gave out 2,000 holiday gifts to our neighbors in the various communities. Fortunately for this year, AMYA plans to double that number.
In particular, AMYA Cleveland has tried to do its part, specifically after the Friday prayers last week, when myself and other young members from my community went around house to house in the same neighborhood where my mosque is located, distributing holiday cards and gift baskets.
We do this because my faith stresses caring for and loving neighbors. In fact, the Prophet Muhammad mentioned that whoever believes in Allah, should be generous to his neighbor.
With that in mind, I would like to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday season.
