Rochester, N.Y. – People of many faiths joined together Thursday night to pray for unity and understanding.
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community hosted the interfaith service. The local chapter is one of about 70 across the country holding such services to bring multiple faiths together.
“Just to come together, pray for our country and our nation and show there is no division in the faiths that we follow,” said Mubarak Bashir of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community.
“A lot of people think there is division,” he added. “But what we’re seeing here at our local mosque is people are coming in, sending us letters of support, saying, ‘we’re happy that you’re here.’ So it’s just a lot of unity that we’re seeing.”
