ISLAMABAD: Making a dangerous insinuation by implying Ahmadiyya involvement in the alleged spread of blasphemous contents, an Islamabad High Court judge on Wednesday said that “those who have been declared non-Muslims under the law are allegedly playing a role in generating and spreading blasphemous material on social media.”
Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqui had reportedly directed the authorities concerned to scrub off all blasphemous content from local social media accounts.
Justice Siddiqui further ordered authorities to place the name of alleged blasphemers on the Exit Control List so that those involved in the “stinking and criminal activities may not escape from lawful proceedings.”
The IHC judge also directed authorities to initiate criminal cases against those committing blasphemy and to form a joint investigation team to look into the matter, adding that those “who do not fulfill the criteria under the law to be a Muslim should not be made a part of the whole process,” a hint about Ahmadis whom the laws of Pakistan explicitly prohibit from declaring themselves as Muslims.
Justice Siddiqui, who was once allegedly photographed kissing and garlanding the infamous 'blasphemy' killer Mumtaz Qadri for murdering the Punjab Governor Salman Taseer, held up the objectionable material submitted in court as an example of ‘secular and liberal extremism’, which he maintained was “far dangerous than religious extremism.”
Justice Siddiqui had denied the allegation that he had kissed and garlanded the killer Qadri upon arrival in the courthouse, explaining that it was a different lawyer, who happened to look like him, had kissed Qadri.
Another Islamabad High Court lawyer, Yasir Shakeel, later come forward and accepted the "full credit and pride in being the ‘blessed person’ for kissing Mumtaz Qadri," it was reported in the local media in 2014.

It is much in the news with much force. Did chief justice Siddiqui mention that material on media is put up by Ahmadis? I hope not. No Ahmadi would disrespect any prophet. So how Ahmadis can be involved?
ReplyDeleteDisrespect of any maulvi can come under hate speech but cannot be considered as blasphemy, such that chief justice may have to cry for that.
Indeed it hurts every Muslim, the disrespect, cartoons of the prophet s.a.w.s. or bad words about his wives. Shia people are well known to abuse the Sahabah and respected mothers of the faithful.
At present I am unaware of the exact nature of dirty media content (material). I trust no Ahmadi will be involved in such bad activity.
