Sri Lanka: Governor and Chief Minister of Sabaragamuwa Province presented Holy Qur’an Sinhala Translation.
The Governor expressed his willingness to have the English Translation of the Holy Qur’an. He was also presented the book: World Crisis and the Pathway To Peace

A four member delegation from the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Sri Lanka (AMJSL) comprising Mr.A. Abdul Aziz, Press Secretary and National Director Faith Outreach – AMJSL, Moulavi A.B. Musthaq Ahmad – Chief Missionary (AMJSL), Moulavi K.M. Munir Ahmad (Missionary – Pasyala) and Murabbi Javid Raheem, visited Ratnapura and Belihuloya of Sabaragamuwa Province of Sri Lanka recently,
Derived from a Sanskrit word meaning "city of gems", Ratnapura, is a major city in Sri Lanka. It is the capital city of Sabaragamuwa Province, as well as the Ratnapura District, and is a traditional centre for the Sri Lankan gem trade. It is located on the Kalu Ganga (Black River) in south-central Sri Lanka, some 101 km southeast of the country's capital, Colombo.
The delegation visited Central Library of Sabaragamuwa Province and met Mrs. Kuruppu, Librarian. She welcomed the delegation and expressed her willingness to have such a valuable book.
The delegation proceeded to Chief Minister's Office at Ratnapura to present the copy of Holy Qur'an Sinhala Translation. As the Chief Minister out of the country, Mr. Palitha Wickramasinghe, Coordinative Secretary welcomed the delegation. Before accepting the copy of Holy Qur’an, he went on to wash his hands, as if he should be clean to touch this holy book. He appreciated the community for this noble task and expressed his willingness to have a separate copy for his own reading. The delegation gave him a copy as requested.
The delegation visited Governor's Office at Ratnapura and met Honorable Marshal Perera, Governor of the Sabaragamuwa Province. He warmly welcomed the delegation. While accepting the copy of Holy Qur'an Sinhala Translation, he remarked: I appreciate this noble task. We will extend our full support if you are all put a book stall with copies of Holy Qur’an and the books of the teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)
The Governor expressed his willingness to have the English Translation of the Holy Qur’an. He was also presented the book: World Crisis and the Pathway To Peace – A Compilation of Speeches and Letters by Hazrat Mirza Masroor Ahmad – the Head and the Fifth Khalifa of the World-wide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Islam.
Ahmadiyya delegation visited Open University of Sabaragamuwa Province at Ratnapura and presented the copy of Holy Qur’an Sinhala Translation. The delegation visited Sabaragamuwa University at Belihuloya – 60 km from Ratnapura and met Registrar of the University (non-ahmadi Muslim), who arranged to get the copy of the Qur’an for the library.
During the visit, Ahmadiyya delegation visited schools in Ratnapura, namely Sivali Central College, Ferguson High School, Dharmapala Maha Vidyalaya and the Public Library Ratnapura.
To all of them, along copy of the Sinhala Translation of the Holy Qur’an with some other literatures including Peace Messages in Sinhala were presented.
