"Such atrocities and violence against innocent people can never be justified under any circumstances."
The London-based press office of the worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community posted a brief statement earlier today commenting on the suicide terrorist attack in Manchester last evening.
The attack on Manchester Arena, purportedly carried out by a Muslim man of Libyan descent, has left 22 dead and over fifty injured.
Not quoting anyone in particular, the 3-sentence statement by the Ahmadiyya press office condemned the attack and offered prayers and sympathies for "all those affected."
The statement read as following:
"The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community condemns the barbaric attacks that took place on Monday in Manchester in the strongest terms.
"Our heartfelt prayers and sympathies are with the people of Manchester and all those affected.
"Such atrocities and violence against innocent people can never be justified under any circumstances."World leaders from political, religious, and civic spheres have condemned the bomb attack.
On learning about the terrorist attack Tuesday night Pope Francis said he was “deeply saddened.”
“His Holiness Pope Francis was deeply saddened to learn of the injury and tragic loss of life caused by the barbaric attack in Manchester, and he expresses his heartfelt solidarity with all those affected by this senseless act of violence,”
For the first time in 10 years, British Prime Minister Theresa May on Tuesday night raised the nation's threat level to its highest as a result of the attacks.
