The Ahmadiyya Muslim community (AMJ) is known for being very open and transparent. Now the members of the district of Stade are launching a new campaign in order to distinguish clearly between peaceful Muslims and fanatic extremists such as the Islamic State (IS).
"Premature blame and prejudice only contribute to the division of society. This is the task of the extremists, "says Zeeshan Rajput, Ahmadiyya's representative in the inter-religious dialogue.
The campaign under the motto "We are all German" consists of two parts. In the first step the Ahmadiyya wants to build up infostations on three weekends in the Stader and Buxtehuder Innenstadt as well as to distribute flyers in 160 villages in the district of Flyer. It should start in August. The exact dates have not yet been fixed. There are no approvals from the Ordnungsamt. "We want to dismantle fears with our citizens," says Rajput.
Following this, a dialogue event will take place in the form of a panel discussion in Stade, to which all local religious representatives and other participants will be invited.
The campaign aims, among other things, to focus on loyalty to the state. "We have to respect and respect the basic law," says Rajput. In addition, Muslim theologians will be on the phone (0800-2107758) and in the social media for citizens' questions.
• The AMJ has 45,000 members nationwide, in the district of Stade there are a total of approximately 90. In Stade, the Bait-ul-Karim Mosque of the AMJ is the only Islamic library in the country.
