Nigeria: Local Ahmadiyya leader Dr Gani Enahoro elected World Veterinary Councilor for Africa
Dr. Gani Enahoro, the former National President of Nigerian Veterinary Medical Association (NVMA), was honoured as the “Role Model of the Veterinary Profession in Nigeria”

The Vice President, African Veterinary Association (AVA), and Naib Amir , Easter Region, Ahmadiyya Muslim Jamaat, Nigeria, Dr Gani Enahoro has been elected the World Veterinary Association, WVA Councilor for Africa.
In a keenly contested election, Enahoro beat other two candidates, Dr. Clive Peter Marwick from South Africa and Dr. Berhanu Admassu Abegaz, an Associate professor from Ethiopia to emerge the World Councilor for Africa. He will take the mantle of leadership from the outgoing Councilor, Prof. Maria Antonieta Baptista from Angola, on August 30, 2017.
It is the first time in the 154 years old organization that a Nigerian Veterinary Doctor would be representing Africa as a Councilor. In her congratulatory message, Prof. Baptista stated “I am sure that you will very well represent our continent as you are one of the best brain of African Veterinary Association (AVA)”.
Dr. Gani Enahoro, the former National President of Nigerian Veterinary Medical Association (NVMA),who was honoured as the “Role Model of the Veterinary Profession in Nigeria” by the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Nigeria Nsukka in 2011, also bagged the Distinguished Alumnus award from his alma mater, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, University of Ibadan in March 2017. He was the recipient of Award of Excellence from the Federal University of Agriculture Abeokuta in February 2016 for “Excellent contributions to Veterinary Enterprises in Nigeria”.
Dr. Gani Enahoro is Edo State born private Veterinary Practitioner and Managing Director of the 31-year old Gan-Rovet Animal Hospital, located in Warri, Delta State.
