SYRACUSE - In an effort to build bridges between the muslim community and their neighbors, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association organized the second national "Meet a Muslim Day".
Central New Yorkers gathered at the Regional Market in Syracuse holding signs that read "Meet a Muslim. Ask me anything."
They're encouraging conversations about their faith and culture.
"We're just trying to have a cordial conversation with everyone and dispel some common myths about Islam and just ask 'how's your day going?'" Faheem Nasar explains.
Organizers hope the meetings will break common misconceptions about the muslim community and their faith.
