The Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Nigeria has deepened its investments in free Quranic recitation and memorization training in the country as it graduated eleven pupils at its Ota branch.
The Muallim of the Ahmadiyya Mosque Qur’anic school located at High Court, Igbenren Ota, Ogun state, Ustaz Abdul Hadi Mutolib Owolabi who told New Telegraph that over 100 pupils are currently benefitting from the free education, maintained that to provide sound orientation and education about Islam and Qur’an is one of the cardinal principles of the Jama’at in Nigeria.
This principle, he said, “is the footstep that we, at Ota branch, are following diligently.”
Speaking at the 4th Ameenul Qur’an ceremony, Ustaz Hadi called on the government, Muslim parents and guardians to offer sound Quranic education for Muslim children in the county.
Corroborating his view, the President Ota Jama’at, Alfa Abdul Aderibigbe and the Circuit missionary, Muallim Solih Okutimirin said that gradual abandonment of Quranic teaching is the bane of Nigeria’s development.
They advocated for “a return to the teachings of Allah as contained in His Holy book revealed through the best of Mankind, Prophet Muhammed, peace be onto him.”
Speaking on blessing of learning the Holy Qur’an, the guest lecturer, Muallim Abdus Salam Adejimi, maintained that learning the Qur’an has two blessings namely reward related blessings and knowledge related blessings.
“Reward related blessings are the blessings that are reward on their own. They are incentives and are ‘cheaply’ earned during and in the act of reciting the holy Quran. But they will never be enjoyed if the main subject – the holy Qur’an – through which the blessings or rewards will be earned is not learnt. You have to learn the holy Qur’an before you can garner the rewards.
“One of this is the hadith of the holy Prophet, which states; ‘when a person reci8tes a letter from the book of Allah, that is one good deed equal to ten good deeds the like of it. I do not say that Alif, Lam, and Mim is a ltter; but Alif is a letter, Lam is a letter, and Mim is a letter.”
The list of graduands includes Ustaz Lamina Abdul Rafiu Akorede; Ustaz Tiamiyu Abdul Fawaz Olamide; Ustaz Badmus Muhammad Awal Olanrewaju; and Ustaz Ibraheem Abdul Kabir Oluwadamilare.
The list also included Ustaz Oldimeji Saheed Akorede; and Ustaz Tiamiyu Abdul Basit Ayomide; Ustaz Abdul Hakeem Yunus Olanshile; Ustaz Adebeshin Abdul Sobur Moyosore.
Others are Sister Traore Zainab Dusu; Sister Oladimeji Islamiat Anjolade; and Ibraheem Maryam Anuoluwapo.
President of the Ota circuit of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at Nigeria, Alhaji Ma Dada while eulogizing the graduands tasked their colleagues at the school and their contemporary across the country to strive hard for excellence in their pursuit of the knowledge of the glorious Qur’an.
“This is the best way to go for anyone who is striving hard to be successful in this world and in the hereafter,” he said.
