Sri Lanka: Independence Day Flag Hoisting at Ahmadiyya Centers

Sri Lanka celebrates its 70th Independence Day today (4 February 2018) to commemorate its internal political independence from British rule on the 4th February 1948.
Issuing a message in view of the day, President Maithripala Srisena said that we must once again show that Sri Lanka is a nation that can rise within a short time period.
President said at the Independence Day Event in Colombo this morning, “Patriotism is financial discipline and anti-corruption drive builds self-defense in economy and continued, bribery and corruption has affected the future of the nation.
The politicians must set a precedent, he added.
To mark the event, Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at – Negombo arranged the National Flag hoisting ceremony at the premises of Masjid Fazl. M.G. Musthaq Ahmad, Sadr, Negombo Jama’at hoisted the National Flag and led the silent prayer.
Large number of Ahmadis in the area attended. Similar event was also held at ‘Darul Aman’ , organized by Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at, Pasyala.
