Decades before 9/11, we proudly displayed our motto: Love for all, hatred for none.

My heart goes out to the victims of the Fort Hood shooting and their families. Although we await more details of the investigation, most troubling to me was that the alleged shooter, Maj. Nidal Hasan, was a physician and a Muslim.

I am also a physician and a Muslim, belonging to the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community. More than 100 years ago, our founder [Mirza Ghulam Ahmad of Qadian, India] condemned any violence in the name of Islam. Decades before 9/11, we proudly displayed our motto: Love for all, hatred for none. We continue to display it. This American-Muslim physician mourns the tragedy at Fort Hood and stands with his nation against the insanity.
