Imam Shamshad of the Baitul Hameed Mosque responded on his weekly AM radio segment “Understanding Islam” to attacks against Islam on CNN by Christian Evangelist, Rev, Franklin Graham.
On Tuesday, Dec. 15th, in his weekly KCAA Radio 1050-AM segment, Imam Shamshad of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community and Imam of the Baitul Hameed Mosque in Chino responded to the attacks on Islam made by Rev. Graham by telling the Reverend to “Read his own Bible” and to stop making these offensive comments about the religion of Islam that are completely untrue.
Imam Shamshad responded to the allegation made by the Reverend that true Islam cannot be practiced in this country since you can’t beat your wife. Imam Shamshad quoted a saying of the Prophet Muhammad that says “The best among you is he who treats his wife the best.” The Imam also called on his fellow Muslims to adhere to the teachings of Islam and to not abuse one’s wife or children.
Reverend Graham also accused Islam of teaching that you can kill your children for adultery, to which the Imam threw the argument back in the Reverend’s lap, saying emphatically that it is the Bible that teaches stoning to death for adultery, and that it was the Jesus who said if a man looks at women lustfully it is the same as if he has already committed adultery, and that he should literally “pluck out his right eye.” Imam Shamshad said that there is absolutely no stoning to death as capital punishment in Islam, nor is there any death penalty for adultery in Islam.
Imam Shamshad openly invited Campbell Brown or anyone from CNN to learn the true teachings of Islam. Like other recognized spokespersons for the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community across America, Imam Shamshad said he is more than willing to come on the news and share the beliefs of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community on these and any other issues regarding Islam.

About the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community:
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is a dynamic, reformist and fast growing international movement within Islam. Founded in 1889, The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community spans over 190 countries with membership exceeding tens of millions. Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA, established in 1921, is the first American-Muslim organization.
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is the only Islamic organization to believe that the long-awaited messiah has come in the person of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (1835-1908) of Qadian. Ahmad claimed to be the metaphorical Second Coming of Jesus and the divine guide or Imam Mahdi for the Muslims, whose advent was foretold by Muhammad, the Holy Prophet of Islam.
The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community believes that God sent Ahmad like Jesus, to end religious wars, condemn bloodshed and re-institute morality, justice and peace. Ahmad’s advent has brought about an unprecedented era of Islamic revival and moderation. He divested Islam of fanatical beliefs and practices by vigorously championing Islam’s true and essential teachings.
