On behalf of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community of the United States it was announced today that they have partnered with the charitable and relief organization Humanity First (http://usa.humanityfirst.org/) to help the people of Haiti in this time of crisis.
"Members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community are volunteering with Humanity First to be sent to Haiti as a rescue team to provide relief to local victims," the press release stated.
In response to the 7.0 earthquake that leveled the Capital of Haiti, Port-au-Prince, Humanity First immediately mobilized its Disaster Response Team to Haiti for distribution of emergency supplies.
"Members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA (including doctors) are joining them for this cause," anounced the press release. "Preliminary relief efforts are focused on the distribution of food, water, medical assistance, and emotional support," it further stated.
“This is a truly tragic incident and the level of devastation can scarcely be comprehended” said Dr. Nasim Rehmatullah, Vice President of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA. “Our prayers are with all those who have been affected by the earthquake. May God Almighty grant them strength and endurance at this time.”
