Ahmadiyya Muslim Community will hold Inter-Faith Conference in Allen on March 6

Forum on 'Religion is the Divine guidance for peace and harmony to unite humanity'

Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Dallas Chapter invites the community to an Inter-Faith conference in Allen on March 6.

The chief guests at the conference in their Mosque will be Allen Mayor Stephen Terrell and Plano Mayor Phil Dyer.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim community with a motto of "Love for all, hatred for none" is represented in 193 countries. The event will run from 2 to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 6 at the Mosque, situated at 1850 Hedgcoxe Road in Allen. The program will be followed by a question and answer session and refreshments.

They believe that the prophesied Promised Messiah has come in the person of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (1835-1908).

The community is now led by Mirza Masroor Ahmad, the fifth successor of the Promised Messiah.

The objective of the conference is to bring people of all faiths together and engage in a meaningful dialogue to infuse mutual understanding between their beliefs. Speakers from different faith groups will deliver their points of view on the topic "Religion is the Divine guidance for peace and harmony to unite humanity."

The forum will also encourage the participants to ask questions to promote positive discussions.

The conference is also intended to neutralize the perception that religious differences have resulted in creating and amplifying the violent conflicts between followers of different religions.

The Inter-Faith conference at the mosque wants to show that all religions originated from God, the Creator of the universe.

Conference organizers say, "The fundamental object of all the religions can be no different than guidance for the human beings to strive for attaining noble moral virtues, and thus promote harmonious communities. It is thus fascinating to learn from the study of the core of all faiths that they have much more in common in its applied objectivity, and there is absolutely no conflict in the moral values each of the group intends to promote.

Event organizers said, "The world today has become much more complex with religious and socio-economic priorities and consideration. More conflicts divide the world community because of the competitive environments. There is a dire need to unite mankind with the same strategy and techniques which were employed by Divine Messengers under His guidance.

"There are no two opinions on the mode adopted by them, which was consistent with every Messenger irrespective of the time and area where they were raised," the Inter-Faith conference organizers said. "They always conveyed the message of peace with humility and passion with very deep concern and love for the welfare of mankind. In spite of the historical fact that they were always treated harshly and subjected to violence and tortures, but they persisted with their mission resolutely with absolute conviction that they will succeed. The founder of each religion was always a lone voice against an opposing majority, but the power of the message embedded with love, peace and concern for the humanity was an effective weapon to conquer the hearts of the people."

Organizers say that the same method will be successful today to unite mankind.

"People belonging to different religions have to floow their founders and engage in understanding each other's points of view," organizers said. "They must exercise tolerance and develop brotherly feelings for each other, as we all originate back to the same father."

Event leaders said the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community "believes that all human beings are created equal and are Divinely destined to be provided equal opportunities for the pursuit of their dreams. It is, therefore, a religious and human obligation to help the deprived communities and nations to stand on their own feet to lead their lives of choice. This community is actively engaged in providing physical and financial assistance to mankind globally, and in particular, African countries. Educational institutions and hospitals have been set up in Africa with the help of volunteers and their financial resources to make their people afford progress."

Another independent organ of the Community is "Humanity First," which is devoted to helping in disasters. Humanity First was involved in helping after the tsunami, the earthquake in Pakistan, after hurricane Katrina in New Orleans and now in Haiti after the earthquake. Organizers said, "It is one of the organizations with the least overhead. A high percentage of donations go directly to the benefit of the victims by utilizing the services of volunteers from the community such as doctors, paramedical staff and disaster workers.
