WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE?
An Interfaith Dialogue and Presentation on Life after Death

The Zion, Illinois chapter of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community (AMC) will host an interfaith dialogue and presentation on life after death entitled, "Where do we go from here."

The event will take place on Saturday, February 27, 2010 from 1:30 to 3:30PM at Kenosha Public Museum: 5500 First Avenue, Kenosha, WI.

Speakers of different faith groups will deliver their point of view on the subject of the "next life," and what the concept means to individuals and humankind.

This forum, the first in a series of interfaith dialogues, intends to bring people of all faiths together to engage in a meaningful discussion to infuse mutual understanding of the various belief systems.

Pastor Frank James, Founder of Changing Lives Ministries Non-Denominational Church of Racine, WI.; Anna Resendiz, Philanthropist and Leader in the Bahai Community of Kenosha, WI.; and Mubasher Ahmad, National Spokesperson and Midwest Regional Missionary of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community are the featured speakers of the event.

Junayd Latif of the AMC, a representative for the event organizers, explained that the initiative began after discussions among community leaders who mirrored the AMC's quest for building bridges of peace by focusing on similarities.

"We are pleased to find religious and secular leaders striving toward the same objectives as we are," said Mr. Latif. "We all agree that providing access to knowledgeable resources on the tenets of religion neutralizes perceptions that may otherwise result in creating or amplifying violent conflicts between followers of different religions."

The AMC expects that the forum will also encourage positive interaction. "Open examination of religious principles helps to demystify the belief in a higher power," explained the organizers. "The purpose of the program is to inform and develop an understanding of the universal thought and needs of humankind."

A question and answer session will follow the speaker presentations, "but the platform is not for debate," the organizers cautioned.

The program is free and open to the public, and refreshments will be available. Any faith-based organization wishing to participate may express their interest by contacting the organizers at IslaminZion@gmail.com.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is a dynamic, reformist, and fast growing international movement within Islam.  AMC spans over 193 countries with membership exceeding tens of millions. AMC USA, established in 1921, is the first American-Muslim organization, and stands alone in its history and practice of open dialogue.
