On March 21st, Chicago area Muslims are teaming up with the American Red Cross to host two blood drives.  All members of the Chicago community are invited to partake in this service to humanity.  The masjids are as follows:

Masjid Al-Baet ul Jaamay (House of Gathering) located at 2S510 Route 53, Glen Ellyn, IL 60137

Masjid Al-Sadiq (House of Truth) located at 4448 South Wabash, Chicago, IL

To schedule an appointment or to find out more, contact the administrator of the blood drives, Kaashif Qaderi at kqaderi1@gmail.com. Or you can sign up at the Red Cross Website.

Service to humanity is a fundamental principle of islam.  Muslims are reminded by the Holy Qur'an that they are here for the good of mankind. (3:111)

The Holy Qur'an adds, "And let there be among you a body of men who should invite to goodness, and enjoin equity and forbid evil. And it is they who shall prosper." (3:105)  Therefore, all members of the surrounding Chicago community of Muslims, Christians, Jews, Hindus, and Atheists, are encouraged to donate.

The blood drive will take place from 12pm to 5pm.  Walk ins are welcome but donors are encouraged to schedule an appointment ahead of time to maximize donation.  Remember, every pint of blood donated saves three lives.
