A FLEET of more than 100 buses bearing messages of peace and love will be a driving force in the city.

Ahmadiyya Muslim Association have asked Travel West Midlands and other transport companies to advertise the slogan ‘Muslims for loyalty, freedom and peace,’ across their buses. It is estimated that 1.7 million people will see the buses in Birmingham, Coventry, Walsall, Wolverhampton, Dudley, West Bromwich and Leamington Spa, over the next couple of weeks.

Some of the buses set off after a ceremony attended by 30 people from the mosque headquarters on Tilton Road, Bordesley.

Dr Syed Farooque Ahmed, president of the Midlands branch of the Association, said: “The aim is to reassert true Islamic principles of peace and to counter the extremists who hijack the faith for political ends.”
