Lahore, Jun.5 (ANI): Pakistani investigators probing last Friday’s ghastly terror attacks on two Ahmedi mosques in Lahore’s Garhi Shahu and Model Town areas have got some crucial leads in the case which point fingers towards the involvement of some police officials deployed at both places of worship.

According to sources, during interrogation, Muaaz, the militant who was nabbed alive during the terror siege, has revealed several important facts which has now led the investigators to believe that certain security officials were acting as facilitators to the terrorists.

During the probe, Muaaz said he and his other aides were directed by the high command to follow instructions from a man named Rana.

He further revealed that Rana left him and his accomplices a few yards from the Model Town mosque and told them that he will return soon.

“Rana returned in less than 10 minutes and was carrying two sacks full of weapons on his motorcycle, which he handed over us and directed us to start the operation,” The Daily Times quoted Muaaz, as revealing.

Considering that the terrorists commuted to and from the target places in such little time and with such ease, bypassing several police pickets on their way, the role of police officials in the terror attacks has certainly come under scanner.

Investigations into the Jinnah Hospital attack earlier this week also revealed that a terrorist received a bullet injury in his leg, however, he managed to escape from the main entrance of the hospital.

Sources added that the investigators are also trying to ascertain who had washed the bloodstains of the injured terrorist from the pavement leading to the hospital’s main gate. (ANI)
