Silver Spring, MD, July 07, 2010 --(PR.com)-- The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA announced today the launch of its nationwide "Muslims for Peace" ad campaign. With so many acts of violence perpetrated in the name of Islam across the world, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community aims to debunk the myth that Muslims do not practically stand for peace and justice. Delivering this message on buses and other transit media displays, the "Muslims for Peace" campaign will raise awareness that there is a community of Muslims who actively preach – and practice – this universal message of peace.
"The purpose of this campaign is to let every American know that the oldest Muslim Community in America, here in the US since 1920, stands for peace, wholly and totally. We always have been and shall continue to do so," said Naseem Mahdi, National Vice President and Missionary Incharge of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA.
The nationwide campaign will begin in New York, where about 100 buses will carry this "Muslims for Peace" message. Additionally, thousands of volunteers across the country will distribute this message by way of fliers welcoming millions of fellow Americans to call the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community at 1-800-WHY ISLAM to seek further clarity or to find the answer to any question they have about Islam. The campaign will highlight the MuslimsForPeace.org website, which contains a wealth of information on this subject. People are also invited to ask questions via email at info@MuslimsForPeace.org.
About the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community:
Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is a dynamic, reformist and fast growing international movement within Islam. Founded in 1889, the Community spans over 190 countries with membership exceeding tens of millions. Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA, established in 1920, is the first American-Muslim organization.
Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is the only Islamic organization to believe that the long-awaited messiah has come in the person of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (1835-1908) of Qadian. Ahmad claimed to be the metaphorical second coming of Jesus of Nazareth and the divine guide, whose advent was foretold by the Prophet of Islam, Muhammad. The Community believes that God sent Ahmad, like Jesus, to end religious wars, condemn bloodshed and reinstitute morality, justice and peace. Ahmad’s advent has brought about an unprecedented era of Islamic revival and moderation. He divested Islam of fanatical beliefs and practices by vigorously championing Islam’s true and essential teachings.
