Indonesia: "Ahmadiyya mosque torn down," a headline read in an Indonesian newspaper on Friday.
“Alhamdulila [praise be to Allah]...! Ahmadiyah’s Worship Place Demolished,” an Islamic news website’s headline also declared.
The Islamic website was reporting the news originally published by an Indonesian language source, Gala Media.
According to the details in a report published by Gala Media, a mob consisting of hundreds of Indonesian Muslims gathered to demolish an Ahmadiyya Muslim mosque in Warnasari Village, Sukabumi District, West Java, Indonesia.
The demolition took place on Friday, December 10th morning under the security provided by the local police and religious ministry officials, Ahmadiyya Times learned from the reported details.
“The action was carried out after securing permission from the government,” Gala Media reported.
Government officials and policemen from local office areas joined the Islamist mob in demolishing the Ahmadiyah’s worship place, the newspaper has further reported.
“This action is the kind of struggle the Ummah [Muslim nation] has to carry out everywhere,” said KH. Abdullah Mukhtar, the head of Annidzam Islamic school. “We are strongly urging the government to ban the existence of Ahmadiyah sect in the nation”
The demolition went on without any resistive efforts from the Ahmadiyah Muslim community, the report said.
Such mob action is apparently considered legal. According to the newspaper, the action was completed pursuant the government’s legal letter number 77/Pdt G/2008/PA CBD, issued by the local department of religious affairs.
The demolished structured and land was confiscated by the religious ministry which handed it over to the Muslim mob for their use.
To prevent the rebuilding of any of the structures by the Ahmadiyah Muslim community at the same location, the Muslims of the area have already initiated to build a new Islamic Masjid that will be named Masjid Al-Mujahidin, Mosque of the Jihadists.
“In this location a new Masjid will be rebuilt and we will name it Al-Mujahidin,” Mr Abdullah declared according the website.
