Lack of religious freedom forces migration from Pak: Ahmediyya delegates

While more than 70 Ahmediyya’s were killed in Pakistan this year, the delegates visiting the three-day congregation of Ahmediyya community which began in Qadian about 30 Kms from here on Sunday, said lack of freedom to practice their faith had forced many to migrate to other countries.

Sheikh Manan said while the present head of Ahmediyya Community who held post graduation degree in agriculture had migrated from Jhang district of Pakistan in 2003 many qualified doctors, engineers and technocrats who were also feeling deprived of religious freedom migrated to UK, USA, Germany and else where in the world.

Flow of visitors from neighbouring countries had been restricted to only 4,586 from Pakistan due to visa restrictions.

Saroor Ahmed said while his parents had migrated to Pakistan after partition annual pilgrimage gives connectivity peace and harmony to meet his kin in Qadian. “ Both the Governments in Pakistan and India should promote people to people contact” he said.

Rasool Ahmed, resident of Lahore, said while Ahmediyya’s have been forced to live second class citizen in Pakistan. The various successive governments after 1974 have not given them freedom to practice their faith.

The fundamental forces and clerics issues lumpens to target Ahmediyya mosques.

Earlier, the session began with main speech of Maulana Mohammad Inam Gouri the chief secretary of tha Community in India.

The chief secretary of Ahmadiyya Muslim jamaat welcomed the participants of the convention and praised god.

He said that the primary purpose of this convention is to enable every sincere individual to personally experience religious benefits.

Among its secondary benefits is that this congregational meeting together will promote mutual introduction among all brothers and it will strengthen the fraternal ties within this community. After his speech Maulana Mohammad Inam Ghori took his hand for prayer in which jalsa participants joined the prayer ceremony.

The first speech of this historical event was delivered by Maulana Mujeeb Lone sahib, the professor of Jamia Ahmadiyya Qadian on the topic of existence of god in the light of divine help.

He said that the purpose of the creation of man is the worship of god.
