The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community [AMC] of Central PA has opened a mosque at the former Lakeside Lutheran Church on Division Street in Harrisburg.
The mosque is the site of an open house and reception for the public on Dec. 12.
Mosque members listen to the sermon that is part of Friday prayers.

According to AMC's Harrisburg president, Akram Khalid, the event of December 12 is planned for the community to be able to introduce themselves to the neighborhood.
"There will be our friends, dignitaries of Harrisburg and local press attending the event," said Akram Khalid in an email anouncement.
Khalid wishes everyone to be part of 'this historic event.'
"We would like to wish you an early Happy New Year," added Akram Khalid. "There are endless things to be thankful for."
"We the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community are very thankful to God, that He has blessed us with a property in Harrisburg."
Th property, formally known as the Lakeside Lutheran Church, is conveniently located near the center of Harrisburg.
The building still looks like a church, but the community members have created a prayer hall on the second floor.
"It is an interesting concept," says Akram Khalid
According to the anouncement, Naseem Mehdi, national vice president of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community will be the Keynote speaker and Harrisburg Maoyor will the presiding guest.
