VANCOUVER – It is very much heartening to note when efforts are made to unite people in the name of love and common good of mankind through religion rather than dividing them in the name of superiority of their religions. According to Sikh faith God, the Creator is one and He resides in His creation. He can be realized through love and service of mankind.
It is in this perspective that I appreciate very much the continuous efforts being made by Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in B.C. to provide opportunity to create awareness for spreading the soul soothing message of love, harmony, and peaceful co-existence in the violence torn world by arranging World Religions Conferences at various places in BC and elsewhere where learned speakers of various faiths try to bring forth the beauties of their respective faiths on the given topic and thereby bring forth many similarities and points of common interest among their faiths.
The recent such World Religions Conference was arranged by Ahmadyya Muslim community in Lanaga Cimmunity College, Vancouver on January 30, 2011. The topic of the day was “Need for God in the present Society” wherein speakers stressed upon the need to promote the godly qualities of love and compassion for making this planet a better place for living. The conference was largely attended by large number of people belonging to diverse faiths. It was equally a great success like the previous ones.
Rabbi Claudio Kaiser represented Judaism, Peter Ruhi represented Atheism, Premeya Chaitanya Hinduism, Brain Ruhe Buddhism, Mr. Craig Murley Christianity, Md Aslam Shad Islam and Gian Singh Kotli represented Sikhism. Harpreet Singh was excellent as the Moderator.
Rizwan Peerzada Regional President, Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Surrey, thanked all for making this event a grand success.
