Swami Agnivesh must apologise to Muslims, demands Punjab Imam
Ludhiana: Swami Agnivesh, who had recently participated in a conference organised by the Ahmadi Muslim community at Qadian (Punjab), had reportedly said there that he was happy to participate in that conference.
“Today I came to know about the true teachings of Islam whereas I had come here with a fierce and dangerous concept of Islam but after coming here I came to know about the true message and teachings of Islam,” Swami was reported to have said.
However, when published in Urdu newspapers of Punjab, excerpts of his speech created a wave of anger among Muslims.
Punjab’s Shahi Imam and Majlis Ahrar leader, Maulana Habibur Rahman Sani Ludhianvi, took a strong exception to Swamiji's statement.
Maulana Ludhianvi expressed his displeasure and demanded Swamiji to apologize to Muslims.
"If Swami wants to attend Qadianis’ conference, he may gladly go there," Maulana Ludhianvi said. "But by describing Qadianis as preachers of true Islam he has hurt the feelings of Muslims of the whole world."
It may be stated that Swami Agnivesh is very often seen attending and speaking in the meetings of Muslims.
In reply to a question, Ahrar leader Maulana Ludhianvi said that Swamiji is a responsible and learned person and he very well knows what is Qadianism.
"But after attending Qadianis' meeting he [Swamiji] has changed himself like a chameleon which is condemnable," Maulana Ludhianvi reportedly said.
