Members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community reached out to spread the message of peace.

Across Canada members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community were out promoting Islam's peaceful message.

Despite the rain, over 600 people from the Muslim community spread out across Calgary to deliver what they say is the true message of Islam.

Members of all ages were handing out pamphlets promoting peace.

The purpose of the nation-wide campaign is to remove myths and misconceptions about Islam , which strongly condemns terrorism.

The group was also ready to field questions about the recent death of Osama Bin Laden, but say the campaign is more about living peacefully and accepting followers of all faiths.

"This is not a campaign about him, it's about the teaching of the Koran."

Some members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community also travelled outside of the city to Three Hills, Drumheller and Airdrie.

The coordinator of the group says they are trying to get the message across not only to non-Muslims but also to the Muslim community.

The group says the Islam peace walk was a success and that over 60,0000 flyers were handed out and put in mailboxes.
