The Indianapolis chapter of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA, the oldest American-Muslim organization, is hosting a "Muslims for Loyaly" conference on Saturday at the Indiana Interchurch Center.
Naseem Mahdi, National Vice President and Missionary In-Charge of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community USA, told 93 WIBC's Ed Wenck on Indy's Afternoon News that the conference is meant to promote the peaceful nature of the Muslim faith.
"We are promoting among the Muslims, especially among the Muslim youth, and also telling fellow Americans that it is our religion Islam which requires from us to be loyal to our homeland," Mahdi said.
He says "homeland" refers to the American-Muslims' home of the United States.
Mahdi says nearly 100 dignitaries will be attending the conference including law enforcement and members of Congress.
Mahdi says the conference is not a response to the recent death of Osama bin Laden. He says the conference was planned many months before his death.
