UK: Muslim group seeking to clear up misconceptions over holy book

“The Holy Quran contains teachings and guidance for all of mankind and reflects on the messages revealed to earlier prophets including Abraham, Moses and Jesus (peace be upon them all) and obliges Muslims to believe in and respect all prophets without distinction."

Ahmadiyya Muslims are seeking to dispel misconceptions about the Koran in the wake of the burning of copies of the holy book in March.

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Association London is presenting facts about the Koran at a special exhibition at Wandsworth Town Hall civic centre on May 17 (Tuesday) from 11am-7.30pm.

During the day various seminars and presentations will take place along with a question and answer session at 5.30pm.

Ataul Mujeeb Rashed, Imam of The London Mosque said: “The Holy Quran contains teachings and guidance for all of mankind and reflects on the messages revealed to earlier prophets including Abraham, Moses and Jesus (peace be upon them all) and obliges Muslims to believe in and respect all prophets without distinction.

“It provides a basis for uniting mankind and we wish to highlight the beauty of its teaching, and depth of its meaning. The picture painted in the media through the activities of extremists is anathema to the teachings of the Holy Quran.”
