Behave Mr. Fake! You have done enough damage already | Letter

[Editor's Note:] Recently a video emerged - allegedly leaked by some disgruntle former co-worker(s) - that showed the unpleasant side of Amir Liaqat, a Pakistani televangelist who asserts himself as 'Dr.' based upon a doctorate diploma he 'earned' within twenty days of his Masters degree. Mr. Liaquat has claimed that the leaked video is a fake, created by forces jealous of his success and professionally dubbed by 'some channel'. Thinking minds have demanded that if the video is dubbed, Mr. Liaquat should produce the original un-dubbed video and exonerate himself.

I’m mad and I’m going to say my peace about Mr. Aamir F. Liaquat [and ‘F’ is for fake, mind you].

Whenever anything happens, "Ahmadis/qadiyanis/mirzais" are blamed - We didn’t get on his case - instead we leave it to God Almighty.

If we wanted to do some propaganda about this Aamir Liaquat fellow, we would have done it in 2008 when in Ramdhan he had incited [a label against] us as "wajib-ul qatl" [worthy of murder]. And, because of which, 3 people got killed in 2 days.

Plus, add to the humor of it; someone said: Isn't Amir Liaqat Ahmadi? Yeah! - whenever you don't like someone you put that stamp on him; “Ahmadī.” Even if it were Aamir Liaqat!

People from media field have confirmed that the Aamir Liaquat’s leaked video is not dubbed. The gestures and lip movement can be scrutinized to verify it, they say.

A friend in his recent article in Newsline Magazine, appropriately titled “Saint or Hypocrite?,” has asked the most logical question – a resolution of a sort. He asked Mr. Fake to produce the original ‘un-dubbed’ tapes and Mr. Fake can exonerate himself very quickly.

We "Ahmadis" do not have the time to do any propaganda. We are busy spreading the message of peace and saving the face of Islam - like how "other" Muslims and Aamir Liaquat SHOULD be doing instead of inciting hatred on television.

Want to see an example of Ahmadiyya work? For starters checkout http://www.muslimsforpeace.org/, http://muslimsforlife.org/ or http://humanityfirst.org/ .

And, I don't know whom Amir Liaqat speaks of – when he talks ‘about those who do not believe in Khatme Nabuwwat’? If anyone wants to know Ahmadiyya perspective about their beliefs in Holy Prophet Mohammad (sallallahu 'alaihi wa sallam), below is the link to a video - that I made sure to send to Mr. fake degree "Hazrat" Liaqat sahib - and I don’t really care whatever he has to say further.

I will not bother to comment any further. I think I have said my peace now.  It is not our fault that he is fake and he got on someone’s wrong side in his crew, whom he allegedly abused, that the video got out.

But what about the Shia gathering video also leaked in the package? Those are 16-18 minutes videos each of which have been out there on YouTube for years.

Was that also fake?
