Faith and country: Other side of 9/11

In his Farewell Pilgrimage address, the Holy Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said, "Even as this month, land, and day of Pilgrimage are holy, so has God made the blood, property and honor of every human being sacred."

How can any resident of this great nation forget the horrific scenes of 9/11 disaster? The precious lives of 3,000 innocent men and women are a living sign of this brutality perpetrated in the name of Islam.

Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, the first Muslim organization of the United States established in 1920, is totally changing the landscape of this horrific scene. They intend to have a blood drive titled "Muslims for life" and plan to collect 10,000 units of blood across the nation to give life to 30,000 people who could be saved with this 10,000 units of blood.

The holy book of Muslims, the Holy Quran states:
The Holy Quran teaches that life is sacred and reaffirms the Biblical teachings that whosoever unjustly kills a single person, it shall be as if he had killed all mankind; and whosoever saves the life of one, it shall be as if he had saved the life of all humanity (5:33). Again we read: "You kill not the life which God has made sacred" (6:152).

In his Farewell Pilgrimage address, the Holy Prophet Muhammad, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him, said, "Even as this month, land, and day of Pilgrimage are holy, so has God made the blood, property and honor of every human being sacred."

Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad, peace be on him, the Founder of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, taught: "Be kind and merciful to all humanity, for all are His creatures; do not oppress them with your tongue, hands, or in any other ways. Always work for the good of humanity."

This is the other side of 9/11 summed up as "Love for all, hatred for none."

May God enable us to serve mankind in the best possible way.
