A HISTORIC friendship link between people in the Leamington area and in Bo in Sierra Leone is about the get even stronger.
Thanks to the efforts of former North Leamington pupil and UK Young Ambassador Ben Wesson and Catherine Moody, the youth coordinator for Warwick district group One World Link (OWL), eight young people will be travelling to the African country in March.
The pair have just returned from a two-week trip to Bo, where they made preparations for a youth visit in spring next year.
King’s High School sixth former Catherone said: “I found the people and the country inspirational.”
The youngsters’ trip, which will cost around £13,000, has received funding support from the Commonwealth Youth Exchange Council and the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association, but they are still looking for further donations. To help, email youth@oneworldlink.org.uk
