To commemorate the 10th anniversary of Sept. 11, 2001, the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community has launched "Muslims for Life," a nationwide campaign. To honor those we lost on 9/11, we will hold blood drives all over the United States with the goal of collecting 10,000 bags of blood that can save 30,000 lives. (We have already exceeded our goal).

Locally, the Michigan chapter of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is holding a blood drive with Michigan Blood from noon to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 12, at Schneider Hall in the business college at Western Michigan University.

I am inviting you to stop by on Oct. 12 to help send the powerful message that we condemn the horrible acts of that day and instead we honor and value life. You could donate blood or recruit other donors.

For more information or to register, please visit http://muslimsforlife.org/ . You can also register yourself by going to https://donate.miblood.org/portal/ and typing "Muslims for Life" under the Name of Location.

Walk-ins are also welcome.
