Televangelist Aamir Liaqat says minority mistreatment a propaganda, seeks Islamic reforms in US

According to the Pakistan’s infamous televangelist and self-proclaimed scholar Aamir Liaquat Hussain, it is the ‘majority’ in his country that is suffering from the human rights abuses, an Urdu language newspaper reported.

“The impression that minorities are being mistreated in Pakistan,” Aamir Liaquat says, “is without foundation and driven by a baseless propaganda.”

 Aamir Liaquat made the statements while visiting the offices of Bobby Kumar Kalotee, a politician and another self-proclaimed ‘Kingmaker’ in New York.

The Indian born Kalotee, it was reported, chairs a political party ‘American Political Party, USA’, but the Google search rendered no results for ‘Bobby Kumar Kalotee’ or ‘American Political Party, USA’ in the news archives.


A May 2009 article in an ethnic outlet India Empire magazine and a story in The South Asian Times, the both reported Kalotee being elected as a Chairman of the Reform Party, USA, a claim that could could not be immediately verified elsewhere on the web.

Apparently Bobby Kumar Kalotee is well known for his friendship with Representative Peter King who was recently accused of holding tough anti-Muslim hearings in the US House of Representative and has been accused of exhibiting Islamophobia.

According to the Urdu daily, Kalotee told Aamir Liaquat ‘his party’ throws its weight behind anyone of the two major political parties they believe would best serve the interest of the American people.

Aamir Liaquat, known for his firebrand preaching and Taliban-style approach on Islam was welcomed by Kalotee in his office and the two men exchanged views of their mutual interests, the newspaper said.

Aamir Liaquat, a former religious minister of Pakistan, was on a tour of the United Sates during the last few week and made several public appearances here.

Kalotee expressed, according to the news report, he often enjoys Aamir Liaquat’s preaching hour on the television and has been anxiously waiting for the opportunity to meet him in person.

Aamir Liaquat requested Bobbly Kalotee to make a good use of his personal friendship with the US President, Barack Obama, and exert his special influence to secure the release of Dr. Afia Siqqiqui, a convicted terrorist, serving an 87 years prison sentence in the US for attempting to kill the US investigators in Afghanistan.

Aamir Liaquat further appealed to Bobbly Kalotee for help in establishment of Muslim-specific reforms in the United States.

Of note here, however, is the fact that while hosting a Q & A meeting in Diamond Bar California two weeks ago, Liaquat had chosen to avoid the “Sharia and the US Constitution” compatibility question by immediately asserting that ‘God’ takes over his sessions, and the program would flow as God would please and thereafter Liaquat offered religious singing for several hours.

Reportedly Bobbly Kalotee was in full agreement with the views of Aamir Liaquat; and promised full cooperation, emphasizing need for peace and stability.
