Canada: Ahmadiyya Muslim youth canvassing to promote harmony

Rabbani described their reception last year as very good. The effort aims to dispel misconceptions about Islam he said and show that "we can all live together in different faiths in this world like brothers and sisters".

A Muslim male youth group will visit Chatham this weekend in an effort to promote peace.

"Our plan is to visit 3,000 houses, knocking on doors, asking people if they have any questions about Islam to promote religious harmony," Rizwan Rabbani, national executive-director of Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association Canada, told The Chatham Daily News.

This is the organization's second trip to the Maple City.

Rabbani described their reception last year as very good. The effort aims to dispel misconceptions about Islam he said and show that "we can all live together in different faiths in this world like brothers and sisters".

Chatham is one of 17 communities across Ontario that will be visited by a total of nearly 300 volunteer canvassers on Saturday and Sunday.
