The Prominent writer and poet Ravil Bukharaev passed away on
24 January 2012 in London, the Russian Embassy announced yesterday.
The Embassy expressed its condolences to the family of the
deceased.
Ravil Bukharaev was born in 1951 in Kazan, Republic of
Tatarstan (Russia).
According to the Embassy’s press release, Mr. Bukharaev was
a member of the Union of Soviet Writers Since 1977and he was also a member of
similar writers’ associations in a number of other countries.
Mr. Bukharaev played a prominent part in the life of the
Russian community in the UK where he lived since 1990, the release further
added.
Mr Bukharaev, who had mastered 9 languages, published over
30 books and represented Russia on a number of occasions at international book
fairs, had received several Russian and Tatarstan
awards.
Ravil Bukharaev, a born Muslim, joined the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community after his personal research into his faith.
