The three-day, 88th Jalsa Salana (Annual Convention) of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community in Bangladesh concluded yesterday with the closing address delivered by the worldwide head of the community from London via a live satellite hookup.

The Annual Convention which began on Friday at the community’s national headquarters in Dhaka with emphasis on preaching "the real teachings of the Holy Quran and Prophet Hazrat Muhammad Mustafa (SAW)," came to a sentimental close with the children and grown-ups taking turns in reciting various salutations in the honour of the holy founder of Islam, the Master Prophet Mohammad.

A large group of audience also gathered in London where the community setup the special satellite link for a live tow-way transmission of the final session of the convention.

The Khalīfa of Islām, His Holiness, Hadhrat Mirzā Masroor Ahmad, who is the spiritual leader of the worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community chaired the final session from London.
According to the figures reported, a total of 6,340 people, including 2,000 women and about 600 non-Ahmadi guests participated in the convention at Dhaka and about 1,500 more joined from the UK via the television link.

The address delivered by Hadhrat Ahmad in Urdu was instantaneously translated into Bangla, English and other languages.

His Holiness challenged the opponents of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, forcefully asserting that in this day and age it is only the Ahmadī Muslims who pay true homage to the Master Prophet Muhammad (SAW) with their efforts of creating peace and harmony in the world.

Speaking about the anti-Ahmadiyya propaganda, the Supreme Leader said the enemies are leaving no stone unturned in their effort to stop Ahmadiyyat.

“They shall never succeed, by the Will of God,” Hadhrat Ahmad asserted.

The anti-Ahmadī forces are at their last stand but thereafter it is nothing but their annihilation, Khalīfa of Islām further stated.

His Holiness said the spread of Ahmadiyyat is decreed by God Almighty, and no schemes by people will be able to end it. He advised the community to continue forward with sincere prayers and pledges of peace for all.

The two places, main location in Dhaka and the satellite setting in London, vibrated several times with the loud slogans raised in honour of the Holy Prophet Mohammad.

The members of the Ahmadiyya community in Bangladesh were overjoyed by the arrangements of the live address by His Holiness and expressed they received “countless blessings and bounties from Allah Almighty” during the convention.

“We are overwhelmed…..! We have lost our words to express our gratitude. We are thankful,” said Tabshīr Ahamd, one of the national officers of the Ahmadiyya community in Bangladesh.

“Bangladeshi Ahmadis living at home and abroad, Ahmadis of West Bengal & Assam of India and Bengali Speaking Ahamdis all over the world have shared this countless blessings,” said Tabshīr.

Tabshir said the community received messages from different corners of the earth even from Ahmadis from other nations, who also expressed their joy and thanks.

On Sunday afternoon, according to Tabshīr Ahmad, there were many representatives in the convention from civil society including renowned educationists and Members of Parliament.

The national Television channel of Bangladesh made a recording of the full final session and many national newspapers and TV channels covered the convention news and showed video footage.

The community plans to keep the tradition of hosting the Annual Convention going in the future as well.

The community also announced that the coming year is the 100th year (1913 – 2013) of the establishment of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Jama’at in Bangladesh.

In 1989, the worldwide Ahmadiyya Muslim Community celebrated 100 years of their establishment and, in 2008 they celebrated 100 years of the establishment of Khilafat.

Bangladesh community, says Tabshīr, will be the first National Jama’at in the world to celebrate its centenary.

The community plans to celebrate the centenary in befitting manner.
