USA: Vandalism of Mosque in Chantilly, Virginia un-American - Senator Webb

Washington, DC—Senator Jim Webb (D-VA) issued the following statement regarding reports of vandalism against the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Mosque in Chantilly, Virginia.
“The reported vandalism of a mosque in Chantilly, Virginia, is an affront to the American traditions which we hold dear. We must not remain silent when any house of worship is attacked like this on our soil.”
According to the media reports, vandals attacked an under-construction mosque in Chantilly over the weekend, causing extensive damange, authorities said.
The Washington Post reported that all of the mosque’s first-level windows and door glass were shattered by thrown rocks, causing about $60,000 in damages
According to Usman Ghumman, general secretary for the Ahmadiyya Muslim Community Mosque, the doors and windows were custom made to match the mosque’s design and artifacts.
He said he wasn’t aware of specific threats to the mosque before it was vandalized, The Washington Post has reported.
