USA: 'Muslims for Life’ blood drive held at Oriole Park
“Whosoever killed a person--unless it be for killing a person or creating disorder in the land--it shall be as if he had killed all mankind; and Whoso saved a life it shall be as if he had saved the life of all mankind.”

The peaceful teachings of a beautiful religion were distorted on 9/11, resulting in a new emerging hatred toward the already misunderstood religion of Islam. Devastating as it was, what it did to the image of Islam probably was more wrecking. How can the peaceful teachings stay in focus when terrorists and suicide bombers gain all the attention?
“Muslims for Life” campaign to donate blood in order to save lives brings spotlight back to the true teachings of Islam. It reiterates the message that Islam values the sanctity of life. This nationwide campaign is back again this year after its remarkable success in 2011. On the eleventh anniversary of 9/11, Ahmadiyya Muslim Community aims to give the gift of life by collecting 11,000 pints of blood to save 33,000 lives. It takes a step forward to demonstrate the true values of Islam. Mere condemnation of terrorism is not enough.
Islam means “peace” in Arabic. The prophet Muhammad was sent as a “Mercy towards all mankind” according to the Quran. (21:108)
Talking about the sanctity of life the Holy Quran says:
“Whosoever killed a person--unless it be for killing a person or creating disorder in the land--it shall be as if he had killed all mankind; and Whoso saved a life it shall be as if he had saved the life of all mankind.” (5:33)
The Baltimore chapter of this global community held its first drive at Oriole Park on August 18 from 7am to 4pm in collaboration with Red Cross. Close to 400 pints of blood were collected. One does not have to be Muslim to join hands and show support for this worthy cause. Anyone who believes in sanctity of life can join. A list of upcoming drives in Baltimore area is given below:
